Rob has performed with and/or recorded with Barry White, Billy Eckstein, David Darling, Vic Damone, 10,000 Maniacs, the big bands of Joe Curiale, Gordon Goodwin, Bill Watrous, Bill Holman, and Ed Palermo, Jack Spence, Dave Anderson, Kermit Driscoll, John Benthal, Marc Minchello, Marc Muller, Dan Higgins, Sal Marquez, Vin D'Onofrio, Alan Kaplan, Dave Stryker, John Beasley, Tom Fowler, Jim Christie, Joe Mosello, Glen Berger, Sacha Boutros, Ben Kono, Bob Sheppard, Ralph Bowen, Leon Bisquera, Will Lyle, Ron Stout, Clay Jenkins, Jim Studer, Mikan Zlatkovich, Dominic Genova, Jim Lacefield, Joel Frahm, Bernard Purdie, & Ernie Watts. Worked in pit orchestras on numerous Broadway musicals in NY, NJ, PA, and in San Diego.
In his high school years, he was fortunate to play lead alto at Venice High School, in L.A. There were several great musicians who were similarly influenced by playing in the school's jazz band, The Crescendos, under the direction of Bill Paney, including Marty Krystal, Pete Christleib, Alan Kaplan, John Clayton, and Jeff Clayton.
Rob studied privately with Bill Green, Don Menza, Warne Marsh, and Ralph Bowen.
